Ken Kiernan

Ken Kiernan is a composer, producer, and songwriter with strong roots in popular music. Over the years he has produced and engineered hit songs for The Chieftains, Midge Ure, John Martyn, U2, The Dubliners, The London Symphony Orchestra, Christy Moore, Paul Brady, Sting, Clannad, and others -- while in his spare time, composing musical themes for Irish and American television, advertisements, commercials and short films.

Notably, his last project for Clannad won a Grammy. Topanga is Ken's latest studio project featuring performances from: Anto Drennan (guitarist with The Corrs, Genesis and Clannad), Aengus Rawlston (bass from The Picture House), Professor James Delaney (keyboardist with Van Morrison and Davey Spillane, among others), as well as drummer Jason Duffy (also heard on albums by Sharon Shannon, Declan O'Rourke, The Corrs, and more).

What if you turned the Dixie Chicks into a bunch of Irish blokes, gave them The Corrs' backing band & Eire's most musically erudite pianist? Top-flight pop flexibilities with a twist – Topanga is what happens when people forget to lock the session guys out of the studio at night.

In the late 80s Ken's band 'Pulling Faces' was signed to Warner Brothers and had a half-dozen hit singles across Europe, including several that went into the top 10. Ken's hit songs have also been performed and recorded by a wide range of artists, from L.A. Guns to The Bogey Boys. Ken is a member of the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) and the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO). He is represented by Subtle Media Group, Ltd.
